Everyone needs to learn more about this. This isnt an event that you have to learn about in the history books. The Revolution in Egypt is happening now!
People around our age (the median age of Egypt is 24) are revolting against a corrupt dictatorship. These kids/people are fighting for a better life. It is an immensely compelling event that will define this decade.
I found these blog sites to be quite trivial because we dont discuss real problems. Before any physical and formal protest began, Egyptians used social networks (such as twitter and facebook) to organize, unify, and expose the terrible regime of Mubarak. This is the true gift of the virtual generation we are living in—knowledge.
To quote one of the protesters:
“We will not be silenced. Whether you are Christian, Muslim, or Aethiest, you will get back your goddam rights. And we will have our rights one way or another. We will never be silent.”
Another says (while laying on the ground as Troops march towards him)
“I lay my life for Egypt”
